Mzansi Youth In Business (MYB)

Give A Net, Not A Fish!!!

Mzansi Youth In Business is a division of South African Youth Development Academy

Mzansi Youth In Business believes that within every challenge lies an opportunity waiting to be seized. Entrepreneurship isn’t just an action or a profession; it begins with a mindset. Entrepreneurship is truly the best preparation for youth with any career or business aspirations, from small businesses to corporates. As technology changes with the world around us, so do job prospects for youth and future generations. In fact, as much as 30% of jobs may become obsolete in the next 20 years. That’s huge! Mzansi Youth In Business presume encouraging youth entrepreneurship is one of the best ways to set our young generation up for success in the future. Entrepreneurship can be a challenging, but very rewarding journey, and in addition to attaining a wealth of knowledge and impressive skillset, aspiring entrepreneurs will gain the confidence to tackle real-world problems and go after their dreams. There is no limit to how much money you can make or how fast you can increase your earnings as an entrepreneur, and this allows for the potential of financial freedom.

We bring youth together to create synergies, build a platform to exchange knowledge and learning on what works for and with young people.

Our Youth Development Strategy In Business

1. Join Mzansi Youth In Business as we identify and scale up new solutions

We need your expertise, innovations and market reach as we develop new solutions to link young people with quality secondary education, skills and training. Do you have any products or innovations that could be modified or scaled up to better connect young people to quality education or new skills? Let us know.

2. We make 'young people' part of your brand

Mzansi Youth In Business wants to connect with young people – the group that will ultimately decide and lead global brand affiliation and loyalty for decades to come. With unlimited online access to news and current events, we believe young people are more socially conscious – and more socially engaged – than ever before. We try to find innovative new ways to tap into this demographic and the spirit of global citizenship to have a distinct advantage over those that ignore this opportunity.

3. We strive to 'Do good' in the communities in which we operate

We don’t need to profit at the expense of communities; we profit because the communities in which we operate, and the people who live there, are well-supported by the local business community. This includes young people. By investing in local solutions that help youth access not just education but skills-development programmes, businesses will create shared value that benefits businesses and communities alike.

4. We strengthen the 'school-to-work' transition

We seek out new opportunities in our operations to train young people in our communities – particularly disadvantaged youth – through hands-on mentorships and apprenticeships, for example. An excellent opportunity to prepare tomorrow’s workforce while also identifying and nurturing potential young talent for our own businesses down the road.

5. We give young people in your businesses a voice in your company and community

It’s a cliché, but it’s also true: young people are our future. We value them as such. We bring them into decisions and let them shadow veteran employees. Above all, we recognize their unique expertise – of course, we will need it one day.
